The Alumni of the Technical University of Kenya are proud to present this body of work for EVC’s 4th edition of thematic exhibitions at the Creative Arts and Culture International Research Conference. In alignment with the conference theme SANKOFAISM: Unearthing, Unlearning/Learning, and Uplifting and the 2026 exhibition theme “The World in Polycrises: Art Driving Change,” these artworks reflect the continuing contribution of alumni to contemporary artistic discourse and social engagement. Responding to overlapping global and local crises—including environmental degradation, isolation, displacement, and inequality—the artists use visual language to interrogate the emotional, political, and ecological conditions of our time.
This alumni collection demonstrates the enduring strength of artistic practice as a means of reflection, critique, and renewal beyond the university. Through works that explore pandemic isolation, ecological contradiction, environmental awakening, and climate-induced displacement, the artists offer deeply personal yet widely resonant interpretations of uncertainty and change. Their works reveal how former students continue to carry forward creative inquiry, technical excellence, and social consciousness into professional practice. As such, this exhibition not only celebrates artistic achievement but also reflects Sankofaism’s call to unearth knowledge, rethink inherited systems, and uplift new visions for more humane and sustainable futures.
