Different Lanes 5 is a story of a soul navigating through the thick of life's currents, expressed in an array of complementary hues rendered chaotically in what appears to be a hot city scene. Themes of chaos, identity, modernism and personal choice are boldly explored with the main subject traversing through seemingly gigantic internal battles.
Otto Gohole endeavours to express himself through his illustrations by the use of watercolor and ink. His compositional tendencies have a quality to evoke a dreamlike sense of wonder in its viewers. He expresses an unspoken dialogue with colour, resulting in refreshing moods. In the last seven years, Otto has been privileged to exhibit at the Kenya Art Fair (2017), National Museum of Kenya (2019-present), Manjano Exhibition (2019-2021), Alliance Francaise Nairobi (2020), One-Off Gallery (2021-2022), FOTA ISK (2021-present) among others. He envisions a future of continuous exploration, delving further into the expressive power of his chosen medium. Themes of cityscapes, vehicles and distorted perspectives will remain at the core of his artistic practice, allowing him to convey narratives that resonate with viewers on a profound level.
