James Mwangi ( Sir Jeey) is a Kenyatta University graduate, where he studied art and design. Early on he taught himself using mixed media in his works and became determined in pushing his work to a professional level in 2022. To him art is more than just a representation- a way to express his ideas and feelings. He takes anything that he is sort of subjected to or he is involved in from memory, what he can see and remember. A trip in his mind- what he sees and how he can materialize that in a form of his visual experience. He often says, “Art is the truth and anything else is a lie!"
He has participated in group exhibitions at the National Museum of Kenya, the Gallery Art Heritage in USA, AKKA Project In Italy, International School of Kenya Friends of the Art (FOTA) exhibition and One Off Contemporary Art Gallery in Kenya.
