Serigraphy Screen Printing, 58.3 x 45.3 cm
The artwork is a Screen print that has been done on Cream Sketch paper. It consists of a young boy seated in a stressed posture that has facial features and hair of the black race. Inspired by the picture taken by Prentice Hall Polk in the 1930s depicting a Young African American boy seated on steps in a moment of apparent distress. In the background, is an electric chair with its strips, that was used for the death penalty in the USA. Below are numerous skulls, and the blood spill- like shape is a shape of an African Map. I used the boy in the artwork to represent 14-year-old George Stinney Jr. He was Wrongfully executed at his tender age in South Carolina Penitentiary, Columbia, United States on 16th of June 1944. The chair represents his type of death. The skulls and the map represent many more blacks that have been executed WRONGFULLY by the death penalty.

Nyongesa Enoch, Olululu - Dark Spot in a White Land. 2026
“Olululu” is a Tachoni word for “Hate” The artwork is inspired by racism that is caused by unreasonable hate- prejudice. The Artwork consists of an African Continent map inside an American Continent map. The African map has skulls inside it. By this, the artwork points to one but deadly crisis in the world that is often overlooked- Racism. More blacks have died in the USA just because of racism. Since more cases have been here, I have chosen to use this Continent to bring the issue out clearly though it doesn’t mean racism is only there.
