Bleach, Charcoal and Oil pastels on Paper, 58 by 48cm
The artwork depicts an unsung woman having walked through the scorching sun barefooted on a crack filled ground surface. The earth's surface is bare with little to no indication of any form of life. Underneath the earth's surface lies toxic deposits of chemicals coming from interference of mankind in the environment. The use of bleach clearly depicts how small deposits can interfere with the large ecosystem. Behind her she drags an empty jerry can, having walked for miles and still unsure of the journey ahead. But alas behind her she leaves a trail of life with moss and algae closely, being her best friends throughout the journey.
