In an era defined by overlapping global challenges, spanning from issues with the ecosystem, public health crises, to economic instability, social inequalities, and geopolitical tensions, the world finds itself navigating what scholars increasingly describe as a polycrises. These interconnected disruptions do not exist in isolation. Rather, they intensify one another, shaping the lived experiences of communities across the globe in complex and unpredictable ways.

The EVC 2026 Virtual Exhibition, themed “The World in Polycrises: Art Driving Change,” invites artists and audiences alike to engage deeply with these realities through the transformative power of visual expression. Art, in this context, becomes more than aesthetic production: it is a critical lens, a form of resistance, a tool for advocacy, and a catalyst for dialogue and change.

This exhibition emphasizes global experiences, encouraging works that reflect diverse cultural perspectives and lived realities from different regions of the world. From the impact of environmental degradation in vulnerable communities, to the psychological toll of conflict and displacement, to the everyday negotiations of identity, survival, and hope, each artwork contributes to a collective understanding of our shared yet unequal world. Ultimately, this exhibition seeks to inspire reflection and action.

You are welcome to the virtual exhibition of artworks from the University of Education, Winneba - Ghana.
