Arbeit Germany Kim Politsch Bild 1

Textiles, wool, cotton, acrylic. 165 x 40x 30 cm

Eccomi shows how second-hand materials can be used to create something new without compromising creative freedom. Just as the colourful patchwork costume of the harlequin was made from old fabric remnants, this one was made from a wide variety of wool remnants.

Harlequins, Pierrots, clowns and court jesters always play exaggerated characters. They are cheeky, malicious, dreamy and sometimes even in love. Their role gives them the freedom to break the mould, tell the uncomfortable truth and stand out. Eccomi does all of this. It stands for clowning in the present day, for the reaction to global crises and the experience of performance pressure as a woman in our society. The artwork is not serious, but shows with humour: Here I am.

Kim Politsch Künstlerbild

Kim Politsch is studying for a bachelor's degree in art education in Augsburg. She is active in the student council and helps organise the biannual student exhibitions. In her acrylic paintings, nothing stands still; everything remains in motion through blurred forms. Most recently, she exhibited a series of acrylic paintings and cyanotypes in Geltendorf. In her studio, she works intensively with crocheted textiles. She does not use patterns, but rather crochets, tries things on and continues crocheting. This ensures that each piece is unique. In the winter of 2026, she will go to the Academia dell'Arte Perugia for an Erasmus semester to expand her knowledge.
