The New Futures Arts Collaborative continues to evolve as a shared space for creative inquiry and community engagement. As part of its next phase, we propose a series of online and/or hybrid gatherings, held on a monthly or bi-monthly basis (length TBD).
These sessions convene a diverse group of artists, educators, cultural institutions, funders, and community leaders to explore intersections between art, education, and social transformation.
The aim of this series is fostering cross-cultural dialogue, collaborative learning, and mutual support among emerging artists across regions.
Topics include funding pathways, institutional partnerships, community-based arts practices, and the integration of Indigenous and activist perspectives. Potential collaborators include the Community Arts Network, the Fetzer Institute, UNESCO’s Collective Healing and Youth for Peace programs, and the Janeraka Institute.
We already did a small survey within the New Futures artists, and they expressed interest in exploring practical tools such as fundraising, pitching projects, website curation and portfolio, as well as in themes such as intercultural dialog, art and democracies, among others.
As part of this, our proposition is to unfold the idea of a youth panel with regular online encounters and exchanges, building on the community we've already established and expanding it. In this context, it would be great to meet with the EVC youth panel members you're assembling, to understand their needs and interests and think of how to develop this.
