Kerstin Pinther is a curator at the Humboldtforum Berlin. She cooperated with EVC during her time as Professor for the Arts of Africa at Ludwig-Maximilian University Munich from 2014-2019. From 2010-2014 she was Assistant Professor for the Arts and Visual Cultures of Africa at Free University Berlin, Her research activities focus on contemporary art, design histories and architecture in Africa and the diasporas. Among her publications are New Spaces for Negotiating Art (and) Histories in Africa (with Ugochukwu-Smooth C. Nzewi) and Flow of Forms / Forms of Flow. Design Histories between Africa and Europe (with A. Weigand). She is head of a DFG project (German Research Foundation) on fashion design and urbanism in Lagos and Douala. She also works as a curator and is currently preparing a film on design and architectural histories in Bamako (with T.
