Gwendolin Lübbecke is an art educator and historian. She studied Art and French for Secondary School Teaching at the University and Kunsthochschule Kassel as well as at Université de Picardie Jules Verne in Amiens. From 2012 to 2017 she worked as research associate at the Chair of Western European History in the 19th and 20th Centuries. During this time she did her PhD in history. She published her research project 2020 entitled „The Cité nationale de l’histoire de l’immigration in the Palais de la Porte Dorée - Transformations of a Colonial palace from the Colonial exposition 1931 to the present“. From 2019 until recently she was a research associate at Kunsthochschule Kassel in the department of Art Education. Since 2017 she teaches Art in Secondary schools. Her current research focusses on postcolonial approaches to art education and a critical prospect of the history of art education.
