Afrikaland Arts & Design, issue 0, cover
The first issue (no. 0) of the journal Afrikaland Arts & Design, founded in 2024 by Paul-Henri S. Assako Assako, was presented at LABA Douala on 26 November 2025. It is the first scientific, peer-reviewed journal published in Central Africa exclusively, dedicated to visual arts, design, and visual culture. One issue per year will be published with chapters in French and English. The establishment was made possible thanks to the partnership, collaboration, and support of Institut Français Cameroun (IFC); Afro Fashion Association (AFA) Milano; African and European colleagues; and the transnational network Exploring Visual Culture (EVC).
