The professorship for Islamic Art History / Art History of Africa at the Institute of Art History of the Ludwig-Maximilian-University, founded in 1909, represented by Prof. Dr. Kerstin Pinther, focuses in research and teaching on global and trans- or intercultural aspects and phenomena of contemporary and historical image practices.
Niklas Wolf works as a research associate of the Junior Professorship for Values of Cultural Assets and Provenance Research at the same institute. As a doctoral student he is focusing on the material and immaterial dimensions of specific African image practices; he is a member of the Exploring VC project.
