The Mergoum Protocol: Typically Tunisian, (A)typically German? On Cross-Cultural Exchange

Dear reader,

The fifth lecture within the series of documenta speeches takes place this Thursday, 9th of December, at 12:00 Central European Time. (Please check what time this is in your time zone.) ‍

The Mergoum is a typical Tunisian handwoven rug. Assuming that cross-cultural exchange is a kind of meta-weaving, what can we learn from the techniques and values of Mergoum weavers?

Speaker: Meriam Bousselmi (Tunisia)

The session will be moderated by Franzi Cagić.
