EVC is collaborating with New Futures, Art Africa and Initiative of Change to organise an artist residency, which will take place in the middle of the year.
(De)composing systems, bodies, matters, narratives. Art as a relational and transformative process of inhabiting a world of becoming: speculative, imaginable, regenerative.
The call invites artists between 21-35 years old, experienced with artistic creation in the context of social justice issues and committed to collaborative work.
The program understands art as process and product of creativity in the broad sense, inviting artists working across multiple media, including visual arts (printmaking, painting, sculpture, and more), performative arts, sound, and media practices (filmmaking, photography, animation).
We strongly encourage participants that engage in experimental and collaborative approaches, taking into consideration political and ecological issues as part of their artistic practice.
Where?
The Residency Program will occur online, and in person in the Western Cape Province, South Africa.
